I know that EVERYONE has been talking about the storm and the tornado warnings over here… BUT, I think it’s SO SICK that I just read this passage in Exodus today. By chance. Because we all know that I don’t pay attention to the news or the weather forecasts.

I was thinking to myself during my quiet-time how frightening it must have been to observe God’s might in that way, but I never imagined myself experiencing such a SIMILAR (kinda) event (and so soon). Okay, I see you, God…

Also, let me just say that my phone is GOOD FOR NOTHING. It takes HORRIBLE videos. Lightning was shooting across the sky probably every 5-10 seconds. But, my phone only captured the huge ones.

I was reading the book of Amos for my quiet-time and I came across the following scripture: “And the Lord asked me, ‘What do you see, Amos?’ ‘A plumb line,’ I replied. Then the Lord said, ‘Look, I am setting a plumb line among my people,’” (Amos 7:8, NIV). It was a pretty interesting scripture. I figured God meant he was going to set a standard for the judgment of his people, seeing as a plumb line is a tool that’s used in architecture and things of that nature to determine whether a structure is perfectly vertical. Out of curiosity, I went to look up pictures of plumb lines and I came across this random blog. It had absolutely NOTHING to do with the reading in Amos, but it was an unexpected reminder of my lack of appreciation for God. Inspiring. COMPLETELY inspiring.
